Customers
Most consumers have not heard of the Ohio FAIR Plan (OFP) until they are
referred to OFP by another company or an insurance agent. OFP exists to
assist consumers who have trouble obtaining coverage from a standard company.
Like all insurance companies, OFP has guidelines that it must follow so
not everyone who applies for coverage is able to get a policy. However,
OFP is often able to help consumers that standard companies cannot.
To apply for coverage with OFP, please contact an insurance agent. Every
agent in the state – even if they normally do business with other companies
– can help you get coverage with OFP. OFP does not have a list of "preferred"
agents. You can find an insurance agent by asking for recommendations from
friends and neighbors, searching on the Internet, or looking in your phonebook.
An agent will work for you by explaining what coverages you should apply for
and being a liaison to OFP. Of course, you can also contact OFP directly (see
the Contact link above) with any questions.
Existing customers may check their policy status, view and print documents, etc. by
logging into the Customer Portal in the left column.
